Neonatologist in Hyderabad
I am a pediatrician with training in neonatology (NNICU from RCPCH, UK) and years of work in NICUs in Hyderabad. The first weeks of a baby’s life bring many questions, and I try to give parents clear, practical answers. This page explains the newborn care I offer and where you can see me.
Newborn care
I see babies for their first check-up after discharge, weight checks, cord and skin care, sleep, crying and stool questions, and the vaccines due at birth, 6, 10 and 14 weeks. Read more on newborn care counselling and care at delivery.
NICU follow-up
Babies who needed the NICU need planned follow-up: growth, feeding, eye (ROP) and hearing checks, development milestones and vaccines. I coordinate these checks and explain each step. See neonatal intensive care.
Preterm babies
Babies born early need careful monitoring of weight gain, breathing, anaemia, vitamin and iron supplements, and development. I correct their age for prematurity when checking milestones and plan follow-up with you.
Newborn jaundice
Most jaundice in newborns is mild, but some babies need a bilirubin test and phototherapy. Yellow colour spreading to the legs, a very sleepy baby, poor feeding, or jaundice in the first 24 hours needs a same-day check. See neonatal jaundice treatment.
Feeding
I help with breastfeeding, latch and supply concerns, weight gain worries, formula when it is needed, and later, starting solids at six months.
Where I see newborns
- Cygnet Superspeciality Clinics, 205 & 206, 2nd Floor, Fairmont Fortune One, Street No. 1, Czech Colony, Hyderabad 500018. 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday to Saturday, by appointment only. Consultation fee ₹700. Clinic details.
- Virinchi Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. 11 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Saturday, by prior appointment. Consultation fee ₹600. Hospital details.
- Online: feeding and follow-up questions for stable babies by video on the VRA Health app. How online consultation works.
When to go to hospital straight away: a newborn with fever or low temperature, breathing difficulty, blue colour, a seizure, refusing feeds, or very little urine needs emergency care, not an online consult.
