Pediatrician at Virinchi Hospitals, Banjara Hills

I consult at Virinchi Hospitals, Banjara Hills, as a pediatrician and neonatologist, and I also serve as the hospital’s Medical Superintendent. Daytime consultations here suit families who need hospital facilities such as lab tests, imaging, the NICU or admission.

Timings, fee and booking

What I see at the hospital

  • Sick children who may need tests, observation or admission
  • Newborn checks, jaundice and NICU follow-up
  • Fever, breathing problems, infections and dehydration
  • Vaccinations and growth reviews

For evening appointments, see my clinic page for Czech Colony & Sanath Nagar. Newborn care is explained on the neonatologist page, and stable follow-ups can be done by online consultation. More about my background is on the About page.

When to choose the hospital consultation

I usually suggest a daytime visit at Virinchi Hospitals when a child may need more than a clinic check-up. That includes babies with jaundice who may need a bilirubin test, children with fever for several days who need blood tests, children with breathing difficulty or dehydration who may need observation, and newborns who need follow-up after a NICU stay. Having laboratory and imaging services under the same roof means we can often reach a diagnosis and a plan in one visit.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Your child’s vaccination card and any previous prescriptions or discharge summaries
  • Recent test reports, X-rays or scan reports, if any
  • A note of the symptoms: when they started, temperatures recorded and medicines already given, with doses
  • For newborns: the birth summary, weight at birth and the feeding pattern
  • A feed, a spare set of clothes and a favourite toy to keep your child comfortable

What happens during the visit

I start by listening to you. Parents notice changes that no test can show, so I ask about feeding, sleep, activity and how your child has been behaving. I then examine your child carefully, explain what I think is happening in simple words and tell you whether any tests are really needed. Before you leave, you will have a clear plan: what to do at home, which medicines to give and how, the warning signs to watch for and when to come back. I follow the national immunisation and child health guidance of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics alongside World Health Organization recommendations.

When not to wait for an appointment

Some situations need emergency care straight away rather than a scheduled visit. Please call 108 or go to the nearest emergency department if your child has difficulty breathing, blue or grey lips, a seizure, is very drowsy or difficult to wake, has signs of severe dehydration such as no urine for many hours, or if a baby under three months has a fever. Once your child is stable, I am happy to review the care and plan follow-up.

Follow-up and continuity of care

Many families see me at the hospital during the day for tests or admissions and then continue follow-up at my evening clinic in Czech Colony, or by video for stable reviews. This continuity matters: I already know your child’s history, and you do not have to repeat the story each time. If you are unsure which option suits you, call the number above and the team will help you choose. For babies who were in the NICU, I like to see them regularly in the first months to check weight gain, feeding, hearing and development.
